Food safety with certified quality

Tomspring SAT applies stringent controls to agricultural production on farms certified with the Global G.A.P. protocol and various environmental protocols such as LEAF, in addition to ethical and social protocols such as GRASP and SMETA. The company’s industrial plants are similarly certified by BRC protocols. This also ensures that vegetable handling and packaging comply with stringent quality controls that guarantee sustainability, food safety and customer satisfaction.

The stipulations described therein shall be fulfilled across the company as a whole.

Similarly, TOMSPRING SAT will strive to ensure that safe, legal and genuine produce is obtained, handled and sold with the utmost guarantees of health and hygiene, whilst at the same time complying with legal, regulatory and ethics requirements. Equally, the company shall honour the specified quality and its commitment to customers.

TOMSPRING SAT commits to the continuous improvement of product safety and corporate quality culture. To this end, it will be a priority to ensure respect for the values, beliefs and standards affecting mindset and behaviour with regard to product safety, and the measures for achieving this include dissemination of product safety policies and responsibilities, training, employee feedback on product safety issues, and performance metrics.

The Chairman of the Quality Committee considers it essential that all employees, upon whose professionalism and efficiency the recognised quality of TOMSPRING SAT services depend, participate in this policy and strive for continuous improvement on a daily basis.

He hereby undertakes to ensure that this Policy is strictly applied, and appoints the Quality Coordinator to work with him to implement the Quality System and oversee its monitoring. The Quality Coordinator has sufficient authority and independence to identify problems, propose solutions and verify their implementation.

The company states its intention to comply with its duty to deliver produce that is safe, legal and genuine, that meets specified quality, and to be committed to its customers.

La Política de Gestión Integrada de Fincas es un pilar fundamental para asegurar la sostenibilidad y viabilidad a largo plazo de las explotaciones agrícolas, priorizando la seguridad alimentaria y la protección del medio ambiente. Los puntos clave de esta política se detallan a continuación:

  1. Pilares de la Gestión Operativa
  • Producción: Se fomenta la adopción de prácticas sostenibles y eficientes, como el uso de variedades resistentes, técnicas de agricultura de precisión y biotecnología para aumentar la productividad.
  • Comercialización: El objetivo es la diversificación de mercados y el impulso de la venta directa, promoviendo la agricultura de proximidad y los productos orgánicos.
  • Gestión Financiera: Se busca la eficiencia financiera mediante la reducción de costos de producción y la adopción de modelos de negocio como la agricultura regenerativa.
  1. Uso Eficiente de Recursos y Gestión de Residuos
  • Recursos Naturales: Es imperativo el uso sostenible y justificado del suelo y el agua, maximizando su productividad y evitando cualquier desperdicio.
  • Residuos: Se deben implementar medidas para reducir, reciclar y reutilizar los desechos (restos de cultivos, envases, residuos orgánicos) y garantizar la eliminación correcta de los residuos restantes.
  1. Protección Ambiental y Mitigación de la Contaminación
  • Reducción de Contaminación: La política exige eliminar el uso de productos químicos tóxicos, gestionar adecuadamente los residuos peligrosos y prevenir la contaminación del suelo y el agua.
  • Conservación del Suelo: Se protege contra la erosión y degradación mediante el uso de abonos orgánicos y técnicas de agricultura de conservación.
  • Biodiversidad: Se establecen compromisos para proteger y restaurar hábitats naturales, promoviendo zonas de conservación y técnicas de agricultura ecológica.
  • Emisiones (GEI): Se busca reducir las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (CO2, metano, óxido nitroso) mediante el manejo adecuado del ganado, la reducción de fertilizantes y el uso de energías renovables.
  1. Optimización Energética e Hídrica
  • Se promueve la eficiencia energética mediante la instalación de paneles solares y equipos de bajo consumo.
  • En cuanto al agua, se prioriza el uso de técnicas de riego eficientes y la recuperación y reutilización de aguas residuales.
  1. Infraestructura y Relaciones Externas
  • Diseño y Compras: En la adquisición o reforma de equipos y edificios, se deben considerar criterios de energía renovable, reciclaje de agua y aprovechamiento de luz y calor natural.
